It’s obviouse that commander talyor is protection this new planet and keeping it from being stripped and turned into a wasteland like present day earth is. the sixers are fighting so they can make living easier for their families at home on future earth.

Right first of they are in a different time line (dimension). This is why they could not find the recon equipment they first sent. Secondly, Commander Taylor’s son was hired by a separate organisation and the sixers the same so they could help him. This is so the the future can havest the planet for all it’s worth. Next off all extinctions theories cannot be proven in either light. As well as them not going to destroy themselves as that would be committing the same mistakes which no one would want to do. Also there is so much time to technologically develop it is unreal so anything is possible. If any of you paid attention when watching this instead of going in critic mode you may have liked it more. As you would of understood the basics of the show.

I believe that the time where they are living now is not in an alternate timeline. “control the past, control the future” that saying makes me think that they are actually living in the same timeline, which could cause a butterfly effect. That is why if you can control the past you can change whatever’s going to happen in the future. I think Lucas actually figured out the secret and that is why he ran away from the commander and hired sixers. Maybe it’s just me but I’m pretty positive that the commander’s actually up to no good, cause from the start he acts a bit fishy and definitely he’s hiding a lot of secrets. But I’m just saying my opinion here, who knows what’ll happen! Gotta wait and see season 2 to figure out! Can’t waaait

“control the past, control the future” as in “control the resurces in the past, sell them in the future”…..they are most definetlly in a different timeline becouse…well..they have killed 10000 of dinosaurs….so by only that…the future would already be fked up..also they’ve sent a probe back…and haven’t found it in the future, ergo, different timeline…and Lucas was sent there to figure out how to make the portal go both ways…

Control the past is a reference to the parallel universe they are in .Control the future is reference to controlling that universes future and affecting the universe they are from ie: owning all of the land that would have natural resources after the passage of millions of years.
i hate to burst your buble but terra nova got canned so there wont be any season 2 but they are trying to find a new owner but yeeh
