This is what really happened. It’s not the ratings that killed the show. It’s the production challenges that they had between companies. It’s sad really, I really liked to watch any kind of “King Arthur” story lines. This series was really realistic, and it really pops the real feel of things. It’s a shame…

I didn’t get high enough ratings because when people see ‘Camelot’ they think, “Oh I’ve seen this before, no point in watching.” And so they didn’t, then the people that DID tune in for the very same reason, that they’ve seen it before, and love the story were disappointed because it wasn’t at all what they were expecting. Which is a timeless classic they know all the answers to already, they only want to see the portrayal. So it just kind of “missed”. If it had been named something besides Camelot, it would have drawn in more viewers and held a larger audience. Not a total loss though, Michele DeBoer sings “Be My Light” beautifully.
Doesn’t metter story was wright or wrong-it was nice serial to watch.If they cancelled becouse of this-why movie ’300′ is still there?That movie atol is rubbish.They changed history of Persian people completely.

some say merlin was just a figment of a writters imagination. but i do like fantasy and it is to bad camelot got canceled. i hate it when a good show dosent' get atleast remotly finished.
The story line is totally all wrong! not even close.

that's the problem and you wont know it cause the series got spaled and cancelled
It doesn’t matter if the story line was wrong. It was simply a good story. It is not like they rewrote history. Disney has butchered histroy or Pocahontas and Anastasia, along with others. Besides only the victors write history and the archaeologist prove or disprove and they never write the story line.
This Merlin should have been in a clown movie and not in this movie

There are only 10 episodes in Season 1. The bad news is the show got cancelled.

Sorry to say but they really ditched this one. I also like the series but it's not that appealing.
Yeah the series is history now. However there another one just like it, it is called MERLIN, although it does not have the same adult flavor, MErlin is also an interesting series. Have fun.
Merlin is nothing like this. Its not that I don’t like Merlin, it has a delightfully imaginative world, they really make the magic of the legend come alive in new ways. But someone who would like this may not necessarily like Merlin, or vice-a-versa. Camelot is a somber drama that focuses on character, moreover the frailties of character, its one of the more psychological studies or Arturian legend and its rather dark. Its alsi slower-paced series, and lyrical than traditional sci-fi/fantasy genre. Merlin is almost the opposite of this, its your traditional action-packed Saturday morning adventure-style serial orientated to very young audiences, its a tale of heroes and damsels in distess, fighting dragons, and good vs. evil. Camelot is also more historically influenced in setting, where Merlin is its own world with a more Rennaisance meets Age of Enlightment appearance to the setting, one where various races of people who would in reality come from all over-the-world also co-exist and wear hybrid futuristic clothing. To say that Merlin is “just like” Camelot is like saying that The Adventures of Merlin is just like The Mists of Avalon. Or that Merlin: Book of the Beasts is just like Excalibur, its not to diss one or the other, but there is just no comparison between them.
